The L100 Ultra has a built-in cyclone to separate chaff and dust from the exhaust. The chaff collects in a drawer inside the roaster, sealed behind an airtight foam.

Airtight foam block
The foam block placed in front of the chaff drawer makes the chaff drawer airtight and is critical for proper function of the roaster. Always replace the foam block correctly. Do not throw it away.
Do not remove the foam while the roaster is switched on.
Installation
The chaff drawer (2) should be inserted into the roaster, and then the foam block placed in front to seal the exit (1)
The foam must always be installed when using the roaster. Notice that the right side is slightly angled, so it can only be inserted one way.

Emptying the chaff drawer
The chaff drawer must be emptied after every 2 kg of coffee roasted.If you are roasting 100 g batches, this means you should empty the drawer after about 20 batches. If you are roasting larger batches, then you will need to empty the drawer more often. To empty the drawer:
- Cool down the roaster and switch it OFF.
- Remove the foam and chaff drawer.
- Empty the chaff drawer and clean inside with a brush or dry cloth.
- Replace the drawer and put the foam back in the correct position.
- Turn on the roaster.
- Reset the chaff counter in the settings menu.

The L100 Ultra features a chaff counter to warn you that the chaff drawer needs emptying after 25 batches.
Reminder: If you are roasting larger batches, then you will need to empty the drawer more often!
You can check the current roast count in the settings menu, by tapping on the gear icon 
at the bottom right of the screen.
Once you reach 25 batches, a pop-up on the screen will remind you to empty the chaff drawer. If you have emptied the chaff drawer, you can reset the chaff counter by tapping 'Done - reset counter'. If you have not yet emptied the chaff drawer, you may close the warning temporarily by tapping 'Ignore'.
After emptying the chaff drawer, you can also reset the chaff counter manually from the settings menu.
Tap on the gear icon at the bottom right of the screen to enter the settings menu.
Tap on 'Reset'
Precautions
Always turn OFF the roaster before emptying the chaff drawer. Otherwise, the fan will suck chaff into the impellers and blow it into the exhaust hose.
The edges of the drawer can be sharp, handle with care.
Always replace the foam in the correct position, taking note of the angled side to ensure a proper seal. If the foam block gets damaged, you can buy a replacement on our webshop.
